Spring between mountains & Mediterranean flair

SPRING IN THE PASSEIER VALLEY

While there is often still snow north of the Alps, spring is already beginning in the Passeier Valley and around Merano. Thanks to the mild climate and sheltered location of the Merano area, nature awakens particularly early here. Blossoming apple orchards, warm rays of sunshine and the impressive mountain backdrop make this season ideal for relaxing holiday days in South Tyrol.

Here, palm trees, cypresses, olive trees and blooming gardens meet the alpine mountains of the Passeier Valley – a unique combination of Mediterranean flair and South Tyrolean nature.

Active holidays in spring

The pleasant temperatures are perfect for hikes, walks along the Passer and the first bike rides on the Passerdammweg. Many hiking trails around Merano and the Passeier Valley are already easily walkable in spring and offer particularly peaceful experiences in nature outside the high season.

The promenades in Merano, traditional markets and the gardens of Schloss Trauttmansdorff are also among the region’s most popular spring excursion destinations.

Spring holidays at the Riederhof

The blossoming apple orchards, the Mediterranean vegetation around Merano and the many hours of sunshine in particular give the Passeier Valley a very special atmosphere in spring. While some of the surrounding peaks are still covered in snow, down in the valley you can already enjoy the first warm days of the year.
